Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/04/2017

Number: 1

We had a female monarch emerge in our butterfly tent. It was from a caterpillar that was on my native milkweed in my yard that I had placed in there. After it changed to a chrysalis it took 9 days to emerge. I kept the butterfly tent on my back porch so it would be exposed to the same conditions as being outside. We opened the tent and let it fly out when it was ready a couple of hours after emerging! It rested in our pecan tree a couple of more hours and then flew away!
