We watched our caterpillars come out of eggs and eat the eggs and milkweed plants. The caterpillar grew and grew. The milkweed made them poisonous. They form the chrysalis and turned into butterflies. We had 6 butterflies. We feed them honey water before we released them on their journey to Mexico. We felt, excited and happy but also sad when released them. We will miss them so much. Our school has a butterfly garden. We hope more monarchs will come to eat and lay eggs there.
