went out to the lighthouse at sunrise today after staying until sunset last night. I saw many Monarchs in the trees before sunrise. This picture is the largest single group I found. Overcast, temps in the low to mid sixties light wind from the NE. I looked for about 3 hours. Most of the monarchs I was were during the first two hours, then the numbers dropped off. I saw a large number moving west, one at a time, through a sand dune area so it was clear they were not looking to eat. but others were eating.
