Tues October 10 was the BEST day EVER for sighting BFs in my yard 2 blocks from the Clarendon metro!!! BEST EVER!!! before 3:00pm sighted THREE Monarchs in the zinnias and red salvia. Also sighted a pale yellow large winged BF which never landed on anything. It was either a clouded, Orange or Cloudless Sulphur. It was as large or slightly larger than a Monarch BF. ALso saw a VICEROY BF, which I mis- identified as a Monarch until looking at the list just now. It was quite a bit smaller than a typical Monarch. The rain brought all of those wonderful pollinators to my yard. It happens every time it rains!
