I counted 10 monarch caterpillars of various instars just happily munching away today on swamp milkweed. This has been the longest monarch season for me yet in 4 years. Saw my first monarch eggs end of April (usually it's end of June) and this is definitely the most caterpillars I have seen this late into October!
