Mrs. Horn's class is made up of two blocks--Block A and Block B. Both groups created an ambassador monarch butterfly and life-size monarchs. We have been learning about the life cycle of butterflies and this was a fun project to go along with our studies.
On our ambassador monarch, we included our commercial state fish, which is a catfish, our state flower, the iris, and our state flag. We also included our school mascot, the yellow jacket.
Our school has started a butterfly garden through our Garden Club. This year we are going to continue growing our garden butterfly bushes. We will raise monarch caterpillars and have a butterfly release at our school next fall.
