Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/14/2017

Number: 20

My yard is full of Monarchs today. I counted 10+ in the front yard and as many or more in the backyard. The wind is blowing hard today so they are struggling to hang on for long. They are intent on nectaring from Pentas, Tropical Milkweed and Buddleia. I could get quite close. Most are in very very good shape - appearing to have eclosed recently. Most are also very large - with a long forewing. Females outnumber the males.
