Noted one lone traveler so far today. Time of day 10:30 AM which is earlier in the day than when I usually see monarchs. Temperature 74 degrees. Gusts 22 mph from the SSW. Roosted in the maple tree last evening. Warmed enough to get off roost. Flew to neighbor's yard to continue warming. Staying low to ground to keep out of wind. Sure has a battle today. Noted to be traveling southwest with definite purpose. Cold front moving in this evening.
