Hi! Our butterflies were sent by the first and second graders of Daycroft Montessori School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We learned about the butterfly migration in Spanish class, and had a lot of fun with this project! Each piece of our butterfly represents a different part of our lives- we have a drawing of Michigan and the logo for the University of Michigan, which is in our city. We also have drawings representing the classes we take like math and Spanish, and of the United States flag. We also included a drawing of fall, when all the leaves here change colors, and a photo of what Ann Arbor looks like in the winter, covered with snow. Finally, we included a photo of a Petoskey stone, which is our state rock. Petoskey stones are made up of fossils!

¡Hola! Nuestras mariposas fueron mandadas por los estudiantes del primer y segundo grado en la escuela de Daycroft Montessori en Ann Arbor, Michigan. Aprendimos sobre la migración de las mariposas en la clase de español, ¡y nos divertimos mucho con este proyecto! Cada pedazo de nuestra mariposa representa una parte diferente de nuestras vidas- tenemos un dibujo de Michigan y el logotipo de la Universidad de Michigan, que está en nuestra ciudad. También tenemos dibujos que representan las clases que tomamos como las matemáticas y el español, y de la bandera de Estados Unidos. También incluimos un dibujo del otoño, cuando todas las hojas cambian de colores, y una foto de lo que parece Ann Arbor durante el invierno, cubierto de nieve. Finalmente, incluimos una foto de una piedra Petoskey, que es la piedra de nuestro estado. ¡Las piedras Petoskey son formadas de fósiles!
