Will our tulips bloom earlier, at the same time as, or later than our friends' tulips in St. Paul? What about our friends in Afton?

We're part of the Green Apple Day cohort running an experiment about the St. Paul area and whether a heat island effect makes a difference in emergence and bloom dates of our tulips!

Our tulips are planted in a raised bed located in partial sun. The bed has been covered with burlap for the winter to try and prevent our schoolyard squirrels from harvesting the bulbs.
