Monarchs Still On The Move - Southern Ontario
This prolonged migration continues. I would not have expected to have heard of much movement yesterday due to cool temperatures, but in southwestern Ontario, over 9 hours 29 monarchs passed by the cliff at Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch. About 4 pm in Burlington - far west end of Lake Ontario near Hamilton - one observer noted that after the sun came out she observed 18 monarchs in about 15 minutes "flying (west) along the Burlington shoreline towards the sun".
Singletons reported from Chatham-Kent, Lakeshore and 2 in Hamilton.
Temperatures back above normal for the next few days (about 68 F) AND sunny but winds will be westerly and southwesterly.
Will be east of Toronto tomorrow and will check out the situation in Northumberland County.
