I was working out on the ramp today (October 19, 2017)following the departure of AA Flight 4250 from the University Park Airport in State College when I spotted a Monarch butterfly flying by (at lat 40.8510° and long -77.8506°). It flew at an average of only about two feet above the ramp, clearly struggling but making slow steady progress to the south against a headwind of about nine miles per hour from the SSW.
At the time of this observation (11:23 AM EDT) the sky was mostly sunny with:
