27 monarchs spotted between 3:20 and 3:45 floating over Cherry Cove Overlook. It was 58 degrees with little wind. Only 1 stopped briefly on an aster. Also along the Parkway: 1 at Mile High OL at 1:40; 1 just north of Haywood Gap at 2:48; 1 at Hwy 215 intersection at 2:52; 1 at Pounding Mill OL at 3:10. Coming back south on the Parkway 1 at Courthouse Valley OL at 4:05 (57 degrees pretty consistently in the afternoon); 1 at Haywood Gap at 4:10; 1 at Cowee Mountain OL at 4:20 (54 degrees) and 1 at Richland Balsam OL at 4:24 (54 degrees). Even got to see a young bear near Cherokee :-).
