I heard myself saying "I don't believe this". I had just come out to sit for a minute in the back, it being a beautiful day and I looked up and there it was. A lovely little juvenile sampling my flowers. I still have a lot of flowers in bloom. It liked the pineapple sage, cuphea and gartenmeister best. Came back 3 times until dark. I did notice this morning that the sugar water in my feeder was about 1" down from yesterday. I have no idea if it had been there before I noticed it at 4:50 p.m. Last year's last sighting was Oct. 17, 2016. Last sighting this year was Sunday, the 15th of October.
