Three to four (3-4) monarchs were sighted in the garden today. The wind was high, in excess of 20 mph from the SSE; the high was 78. The monarchs nectared on tropical milkweed and blue mistflower (Conoclinium greggii), arriving around 8:00 am and leaving around 6:30 pm. Another cold front is forecast to arrive Saturday afternoon. There’s a possibility for a first overnight freeze by next Friday.
