I BELIEVE THIS IS THE LATEST I HAVE EVER SEEN A MONARCH BUTTERFLY....
Friday was a very warm and windy day (south, gusting to 30mph).
We saw the single female monarch at Lions park just north of St. Croix Falls, WI.
It struggled against the wind and once was caught in a whirlwind before finally crossing the road and getting into a woody hillside.
It will be a miracle if she can get out of Wisconsin....
(two other late sightings: 10/19 and 10/8)
