After a frontal passage in the early morning shifted winds to the north, we started to see Monarchs passing over our house in Central Austin flying due south. Over the noon hour, I counted 12 fly over, about half of them dropping down to stop briefly on a loquat tree in bloom. Throughout the afternoon, we saw a few others in other parts of town.
