Monarchs throughout the garden. Sunny, bright day - 70's.

Six along Waterlily Pools
Four in Pine Barren Area
Three in Osborne Garden

Friend reported six along edge of Rose Garden and also saw several in new Water Garden;

I noticed that the ones I saw were females. I only saw one male.

Question: Do the males leave and migrate first and then the females follow? Do they migrate in a similar pattern as the hummingbirds--males leave first and females and juveniles follow?
