Incredibly, there are now TWO immature ruby-throated hummingbirds in my yard. The second one showed up late this afternoon and instigated a chase. Of course, both hummers are in trouble because the flowers will all die this weekend. I'm keeping my potted salvias alive by putting them in the garage overnight, but freezing air will prevent me from putting them back out first thing in the morning when the hummers need them.
