I saw a monarch trying to find nectar sources today while we were at a funeral in a cemetery today.. We had frost last night. The butterfly was trying to find nectar sources that weren't the pesticide treated mum's being planted everywhere. Thank goodness there were some blooming zinnias and other summer planted flowers left untouched by the frost that family members have been caring for. The memorial stones helped insulate the flowers from the cold. Smart little butterfly!
