On Friday, October 27 we saw at least 8 monarchs basking in the sunlight and nectaring. They were on roses and above all on late flowering purple asters. At around 11:30 am and then again around 3:30 pm.
(We were amazed by the number of flowers still blooming in The herbaceous borders of Tyron Park)
Do you think these butterflies have a chance of migrating safely, or is it too late in the season?
