Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/11/2017

Number: 17

Friend of mine called to say she saw a female Monarch flying around her common milkweed sprigs Oct 5th. She was thrilled since this is the first time in 3 years that she has had a Monarch fly into her garden. She found at least 17 caterpillars around the 11th. I am helping her raise 8 of them on my tropical milkweed I have left. Our peak Monarch migration is usually last week Sept or beginning of Oct. I am hopeful since I was able to tag several late bloomers last year on November 16th. This was definately my best season so far with over 100 releases. As of October 28th I have 2 cats spinning their silk buttons.
