I observed a male monarch from 4:45 to 4:50 PM flying around the top of a spruce tree and coming down to my flower garden to land on the Joe-pye-weed. I went to get my camera to take a picture, but the monarch was gone when I came back outside. Weather was mostly cloudy except for sunshine watching the monarch. Temperature was 46F., and the wind NW at 4 mph at 5 PM. The temperature has not been above 50 degrees the last 5 days and the lows have been mid 30's to low 40's.
