Saw one monarch nectaring on marigolds and zinnias remaining in the yard. It had large wings and was soaring and gliding around the backyard for quite a while. The temperature here is 65 degrees today, a significant jump from the low temps of the past week. The monarch didn't open its wings when we were close enough, so we couldn't tell if it was a male or female. Sure hope it makes it to Mexico!
