Sightings report image

Date: 11/04/2017

Number: 1

I am continuing to get flocks of Gulf Fritillaries in my back yard, routinely 6-10 at a time nectaring on my red pentas. It is presently 12:16AM and overcast with a temp of 79*. I was cleaning out the watering stations when they came and they are big, colorful and beautiful. I seldom go a day without seeing 5-6, on and off. But today, there were more. Birds are scarce right now, and I don't know why. But feeders are clean and filled and all watering stations stations have the welcome mat out. Without question, this past migration sold me on planting more pentas come next spring. Those things have been magnets for anything with wings.
