Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 11/05/2017

Number: 3

Three Monarchs seen today at Point Pelee. 14°c/58f & mostly cloudy upon arrival at the Tip around 11 am. Before even parking I observed a Monarch arrive from the north on the west side near Tip parking lot. I chased him down getting flight shots & then he landed on grapevine so I could get a better pic :) (photo 1)
2 were spotted on the east side trees. Photo of of a plump healthy female basking in the minimal rays of the sun.

Left the park just before 1 pm - 15°c/60f.
South wind as seen in photo of the Tip.

A storm was due to arrive around 1pm & did, dropping alot of rain. No Tornado Watch for this side of Lake Erie but a Watch for the Southshore of Lake Erie/Ohio.

North wind & sunshine the next 3 days will clear the way for late migrating Monarchs.
We are now seeing more normal numbers of a few for this time of year here.
