Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 11/07/2017

Number: 7

Have seven monarch larva in my back garden at the moment.
They are at different instars
between 1 and 5.
I have also moved two chrysalis's that I found
into the house.

Next year I am going to remove all the tropical milkweed and only concentrate on nectar plants for the Monarchs in the fall.
I believe that the reason I have so many larva is because some of the monarchs interrupted their usual migration to Mexico,
because of the presence of tropical milkweed in my garden.
This happened last year also.
Noticed that the number of monarchs passing through is substantially lower than last year, at least in my garden.

It is sad but I don't think any of these larva or chrysalis's will make it to Mexico - my fault.
Sorry am sick at the moment so won't be able to provide photographs to prove my assertions. You'll just have to trust that I know what I am talking about.
