Sightings report image

Date: 11/10/2017

Number: 1

I saw it last night at dusk for a few seconds. Last night we had temperatures of -7. My fountain and all the plants were frozen...also a light dusting of snow. At 6:30 a.m. I put out 3 different feeders which froze within the hour. So, I had to rewarm them just about every 1-1/2 hours. It did warm up a bit. Well, the juvenile came at 7:15 a.m. and flew all over the yard trying to find nectar finally settling on the Pineapple Sage. It was ripping the flowers off the stalks. It's still here but not using the feeders. I just saw it at 4 p.m. Will report again tomorrow. Oh, it is pretty chunky from the view I had. You can see the bird and its shadow in the window area.
