Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 11/06/2017

Number: 1

I went back to this area to see if I could see & possibly capture the monarch(s), I had seen last week, on 11/2/17. It was 67 degrees and was not going to be below 55 degrees beyond this afternoon. It was cloudy, with no sun predicted; But from 12:30-1:30 pm, there was a beautiful blue sky and sunshine. Various small butterflies started to fly around in the field. I got out of my car, and just then, the Monarch came from the area I had seen him last Thursday and flew right over my head!
He did not come down to any flowers, but continued high into an area of maple trees. At this point the clouds were starting to roll in, and within 1/2 hour the rain and wind brought in the cold.
Maybe he went up in the wind current and headed to temps that are warmer? :)
