Monarch PEAK Migration
Sightings report image

Date: 11/25/2017

Number: 24

Dozens of (only male that I could tell) monarchs were still moving south through Florida Thanksgiving week! Spotted at least 24 of them at beautiful Sunken Gardens, where they were nectaring on the garden's extensive bougainvillea, as well as the scarlet milkweed in the butterfly garden. It was a brilliantly sunny day, so they were especially active. A lot of territoriality was goin' on, too, with many of them (again, all males) giving chase.
