Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 12/09/2017

Number: 1

I did see a hummingbird dash thru the pergola the day of Dec. 8th,when we had an inch of snow. Haven't seen it since. Snow flurries started around 4:30 a.m, ending around daylight. It was freezing cold and not fun to sit outside to try to spot what I saw. Still watching and glad all potted nectar plants are not all over den, in car, and garage to keep from losing them.
Purple Mexican bush sage, salvia greggii, giant purple Gurantica,Black and Blue salvia, Hamelia, blue Porter weed,Wendys Wish salvia all had snow on them and didnt wilt and yet even after the next night 32 freeze. Amazing.
We may see female Rufous in about 2 weeks that are late.

P.S. I wonder if Deborah's Rufous stayed in Houston.
