Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 02/28/2018

Number: 1

Robin perched on wire singing his song at 7:15 am. It was the true song I heard. I think he's just tuning up. There's 1-2 robins daily. I see them in the morning and evening, but they are not singing over and over. I woke up at 5:30 this morning and the robin sang his Dawn song at 6 am for a short while only. Sunrise was around 6:30, then the Red-winged blackbirds and Cardinal started singing. It's still early here for spring. What was rather funny was seeing a Song Sparrow following the foraging Robin around the yard.

Editor's note: We have moved this report to Robin (OTHER Observations) since the robin was "tuning up" as hormone level rise rather than proclaiming territory which is meant to drive off other robins and a prelude to nesting.
