Tulips EMERGED
Sightings report image

Date: 02/23/2018

Number: 1

After a record breaking 82-degree high on February 21, and and the highest recorded minimum temperature (50 degrees) on that date as well, we watched carefully for signs of growth in Mifflin Park's Tulip Test Garden. Sure enough, the first tulip shoot emerged just two days later. With nearly a month of winter remaining, first and fourth grade citizen scientists are wondering how returning cold weather and snow will affect bloom time.
