Robin (WAVE seen)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/14/2018

Number: 15

From 6-6:30pm a wave of Robins came to our backard. Taking baths, some nicely waiting their turn but others squabbling as this picture shows. Only 5 or 6 would get in the bird bath at one time before some decided it was too crowded & would fly to a local 'Live Oak Tree'. They were in the trees & shrubs so it was hard to get a correct count. There could have been more than I listed above as total count. I think they were looking for any left-over fruit on the Holly & Cherry Laurel shrubs. Some were also preening & waiting to go back to the bird bath. The water got low & I had to refill it. They did not seem to be bothered too much by me being in the backyard calming & quietly moving around. I think they would have stayed longer but our neighbors small children came out shouting & playing loudly in their tree house at the fence which is on the side of the bird bathe. That is when the Robins flew into more distant trees. Vocals that I heard were 'Peek & Tut', Whinny, & Zeeeep. Note- Approx. 2-3 weeks ago our regular male & female came back using bird bath & eating peanut butter suet at feeder several times a day.
