Date: 03/19/2018

Number: 2

One (1) monarch flying S to N across the Lavaca Bay
Causeway about a mile NE of Port Lavaca. Flying hard
at about 12 feet over the causeway which puts it about
35 to 40 feet above the surface of the bay (3 pm).

Second one (1) flew over our house and down across our front yard, about a mile southwest of the causeway (5 pm).

80 dF, NNW wind @15 mph, mostly cloudy, frontal passage
early this morning. Low of 75 dF this morning will be
close to 50 dF tomorrow morning after the passage of
another front. High temp records have been broken along the coast for March. Saw a few good stands of blooming A. viridis on a quick trip to Houston today.
