On Feb. 14 we observed that about 5 of the 20 planted tulips had emerged. They have continued to grow and 20 have now emerged. After one month they average about 12cm in height.
We have an experiment bed of tulips also that were planted back in Oct. Because we are in zone 8, we were instructed to refrigerate the bulbs and plant in Jan. Our experiment was to see what would happen if we did not do this with another set of bulbs. The experiment tulips emerged earlier than the ones planted following protocol, but they are not growing as well and do not look as healthy. We wonder if this will effect the quality of flowers.
