Hummingbird, Other Species Sighted

Date: 03/25/2018

Number: 1

I thought I saw a hummer try 2 come 2 kitchen feeder yesterday. He ? backed off when he saw me move in the window. I did not record it as husband said "I didn't see it". But this evening b4 sunset we were out in the backyard discussing garden & it was getting dusky. I always hear the Black-chinned wing sound b4 I really get to see them. I am assuming it has 2 b a male. Our BC comes 1st before our Rubies do. I have 3 feeders up & flowers are sparse. Plenty of mosquito's for the hungry hummers. Blooming plants r salvia's Cherry Chief, Radio Red,Lipstick, Honeysuckle Vine, Bluebonnets, Wild Red Columbine & Henry Duelburg(Mealycup sage) is putting up 1st buds. Heatwave Salvia is starting to bloom. Glad we went 2 Garden Store. Our flowers were really cold-snapped this winter & Spring flowers r slow to put out. Last yr. I saw my 1st hummer high up in the Oak Tree Shag for 3 days hawking insects around April 5th-6th. 84 Degrees. This is the earliest I have seen them. So happy 2 have them back. :-)
