I saw many California Tortoiseshell Butterflies (hundreds over a few hours) today from late morning until mid-afternoon. All heading east-south-east. They came over Ring Mountain Open Space and seemed to be heading along the Tiburon Pennisula.
I've lived here for 15 years but this is the first time I've seen this. Very cool!
