Beaver Dam Lake in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin


"Ice out on Beaver Dam Lake happened March 27, according to Dick McMillan.


In 2017, it was out on March 8.


McMillan, who has been maintaining the record most recently, has data going back to 1916 with recorded ice-out dates. His records indicate the earliest date ice has gone off the lake was Feb. 28 in 1998. The latest ice-out date was April 20 in both 1973 and 1972.


McMillan said ice-out is determined when a boat can travel from the dam in Beaver Dam to the long bridge on the north end of the lake."
