Gray Whale Sighted

Date: 03/30/2018

Number: 22

We began observing today at the Point Arena Lighthouse peninsula where we saw 5 northbound gray whales before the fog rolled in and we no longer had any visibility. We relocated south to Saunders reef where we spotted 17 northbound grays as well as two meandering juveniles. We also had an amazing sighting of 5 humpback whales, one of whom was very acrobatic displaying tail lobbing, tail slapping, one full breach, and tail breaching.
