Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers
Sightings report image

Date: 04/02/2018

Number: 1

Our first in 2018 (a male ruby-throated) nectaring from flowers. We had our first ruby-throated, a male, on 29 and 30 March. This is our first hummingbird since then. The photo shows it on Salvia coccinea (I believe - it was not marked with a name when I bought it). It also nectared from Coral Plant/Firecracker plant (Russelia equisetiformis) where I first spotted it and others. It ignored the feeders (unlike our first which only fed from the feeders).
