This is a follow-up photo to my 3/30/2018 report (Monarch Adult Sighted). This is a female monarch nectaring from a Lyre-Leaf Sage (Salvia lyrata) in the early morning sunlight of Good Friday. These delicate lavender flowers are abundant in our yard and pastures right now and provide helpful nectar to the bees and butterflies. I love seeing the beautiful monarchs taking sips from them!
