Started to see sap buckets on mature sugar maple trees in this area since the above approx. date. Night temperatures are cold, below freezing with most days being cool also.
Ground is still cold and, snow flurries have fallen almost every day of April thus far.
Farmers eager to begin planting Corn in this area however, they may need to exchange some seed varieties for others which are more conducive to a later planting and shorter growing season now.
Robbins are quite plentiful now.
They seem confused by the climatic conditions this April.
We are not seeing a large variety of songbirds here yet presumably due the cold and winter like conditions.
Was surprised to see the large Turkey vultures hovering in the thermals already. They seem to have also arrived early perhaps.
Chipmunks are out and around some days and, have seen a couple of unfortunate Skunks which did not make it across the highway. Spring is coming at some point.
