Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/11/2018

Number: 1

17:54 (5:54pm) on 4/11/18; specific coordinates 30 ? 39'51"N 97?44'05"W

Single Monarch - got close enough for a pic but never could catch an image. We have had pretty persistent north and northwest winds but now we've had a couple of days of good south winds so I'm hopeful of seeing more.

Fairly faded but no wing wear noted. See pic. The habitat is around Lake Georgetown, particularly in the USACE area below the dam and in the emergency spillway area.

There is lots of antelope horn (pretty prolific in the immediate area) and some spotty others; I'm not an expert so I need to wait until flowering to help me identify. I've not yet noticed any eggs.
