Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/09/2018

Number: 20

Eggs that were laid March 31 started hatching April 9. I was worried about them — the longest that any previous eggs had taken was 7 days, which is still longer than the 3-5 day norm. The host plants haven't been exposed to the elements except for one day — they are nursery raised and were outside when Momma found them. The plants have been inside since then with temps in the 60s, instead of outside with tremendous fluctuations. The little guys are rapidly eating and growing!
