Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/13/2018

Number: 1

No photo, wind was howiling and the Monarch went by me very quickly from the south to the north.

I was blown away when I saw it. I have been photographing butterflies for about 5 years now and I have become VERY familiar with the local species here. This sighting was the earliest I have seen a Monarch here. I spotted the Monarch about a half a block away and it flew directly at me and went over my left shoulder and I watched it flit away, I was hoping to see it land but there are no flowers around here right now and the wind was blowing about 20 out of the south. I regret that I was busy doing yard work and didn't have my camera immediately accessible. I am 100% sure that I saw a monarch, I saw my first Easter Comma back in February and I haven't seen any Viceroy, Admiral, or Painted or American Lady, yet this year either.
