Despite sleet, graupel and snow today, I saw a Ruby-crowned Kinglet, a Wood Thrush, heard a Rufous-Sided Towhee, and saw a Golden Eagle at Pine Lake. Hooded Mergansers, White Pelicans, double-crested cormorants and scaups, canvasbacks are on the lake. Eastern Phoebes are sallying out over the lake for insects. Many birds have come to the feeders: house finches, goldfinches, cardinals, juncos, fox and tree sparrows, starlings, downy and red-bellied woodpeckers.
