I was happy to read about the monarchs making their way northward from Florida, maybe establishing a new flyway route. Steve, the maintenance man at our winter condo in Lake Suzy, Florida raises many of them. He had 500 Monarch caterpillars in January. He was afraid he might run out of milkweed but he was happy to report that they all made it to chrysalis and eventually became butterflies. Maybe some of their descendants are now heading towards New Jersey. If you'd like more information about his project, I can ask him.
