Expert bird watcher Doug McRae reports the sighting of the first Arctic migrant shorebird – a single DUNLIN - on 13 April. These birds nest in the Arctic, and just pass through the park during their migration northward. Presqu'ile Provincial Park is a very significant staging site for fall and spring shorebird migrations. Long sandy beaches provide a resting site and opportunity to feed.
