The final 1 of 4 swamp milkweed plants (Asclepias incarnata) in the garden has finally sprouted. Three inches of rainfall Saturday and sunshine clearly nudged this milkweed from its winter slumber. Still nested in last season's leaf litter, its new growth is warm and well-watered.
